Lubava 279 MV

Corn Lubava 279 MV is a simple modified mid-season hybrid characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic and soil conditions. Plants reach a height of 250-270 cm, do not form tillers, and have a red stalk. The cylindrical ear, 22-23 cm long, is attached at a height of 85-105 cm, contains 16 rows of yellow, hard, dent corn kernels with 40-42 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is 290-300 g, and grain yield reaches 80-85%. The hybrid has been included in the State Register since 2004 and is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones, with optimal planting density ranging from 50,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare depending on the region.

Lubava 279 MV exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, as well as lodging and stem breakage, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. The hybrid tolerates drought and low temperatures, possesses high technological efficiency, and positively responds to improved agronomic conditions. Due to these qualities, it is popular among Ukrainian farmers and demonstrates stable high yields of both grain and silage. The yield potential is 12-13.5 tons of grain and 50-65 tons of silage per hectare.

The hybrid is especially effective on fertile soils with good moisture, as evidenced by high yields in regions such as Poltava, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy. Seeds are produced on a sterile basis with a full restoration scheme, guaranteeing high-quality planting material.
