AS 33039

AS 33039 is a simple two-line mid-early hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region for grain cultivation. The plant is characterized by medium height and medium leaf width with slight curvature, as well as weak anthocyanic coloring of the first leaf sheath, roots, and silk. The time of tassel emergence varies from early to mid-season, with the tassel having medium spikelet density and weak anthocyanic spikelet sheath coloring. The ear is cylindrical, medium in length and diameter, with a medium-length stalk and medium number of rows of kernels. The kernel type is intermediate, closer to dent, with orange coloring on the upper part and yellow-orange on the lower part. Anthocyanic coloring of the ear stalk is very strong. The hybrid demonstrates high yield: the average grain yield in the region is 80.4 c/ha, 14.4% higher than the standard, with a maximum yield of 144.7 c/ha recorded in the Lipetsk GSS in 2015. Grain moisture at harvest averages 24.3%, slightly higher than the standard. The vegetation period is 116 days, corresponding to the level of mid-early hybrids. In field conditions, the hybrid shows resistance to corn ear fusarium and corn ear blemishes, increasing its reliability and grain quality. AS 33039 has a yield potential of up to 157 c/ha, with 16 rows per ear and 36 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 270 grams. Due to its characteristics, the hybrid is suitable for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region and provides stable, high grain yields with good water use efficiency, facilitating harvest and subsequent processing.
