Accentus is a simple hybrid of sweet corn of French breeding by R2N, developed to produce a marketable yield with high organoleptic properties. The fundamental difference of this hybrid lies in the selection emphasis on phytosanitary resistance, which is critical for the sweet corn segment, as it is highly susceptible to pathogens during the ripening stage.

Biological Defense: Resistance to Rots

A key biological engine of Accentus is its expressed resistance to a complex of stalk rots. Under intensive irrigation conditions, typical for sweet corn production, the risk of fungal infections within the stalk increases significantly. R2N has integrated mechanisms into the hybrid's genome that prevent the colonization of tissues by rot pathogens. In practice, this ensures:
