The BJORK corn hybrid is a three-line mid-early maturity variety registered in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region. The vegetation period is approximately 117 days, meeting the standard level. Plants reach significant height with medium-width leaves, making the hybrid suitable for both grain production and silage. Tasseling occurs in early-to-mid season, and anthocyanin pigmentation of various plant parts varies from absent to medium intensity, indicating its resistance and adaptability. The BJORK corn cob has a cylindrical shape of medium length and diameter, with a medium-length stalk and medium number of rows. Kernels are intermediate type, closer to starchy, with characteristic orange coloring on upper and lower parts. Average grain yield in the region reaches 73.7 c/ha, which is 18.9% higher than the standard, with a maximum yield of 105.3 c/ha in 2015. Pre-harvest grain moisture content is about 24.2%, slightly lower than the standard, facilitating harvesting and storage. The BJORK hybrid exhibits good disease resistance, particularly showing low susceptibility to corn cob fusarium and mold in field conditions. Due to its characteristics and high productivity, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation as both grain and silage, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
