Djerba

Corn Djerba is a high-yielding hybrid adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppe and forest-steppe regions. This medium-early hybrid is characterized by high resistance to adverse weather conditions such as cold and drought, ensuring stable yields. Plants reach a height of approximately 260-280 cm, with cylindrical ears 18 to 22 cm long, containing 16-18 rows of kernels, contributing to high productivity both for grain and silage.

The grain of corn Djerba is characterized by yellow or yellow-orange color and a dentiform shape. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 280 to 320 g, indicating large kernel size and high product quality. The hybrid exhibits rapid moisture release from kernels upon maturity, facilitating harvest and reducing losses. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 17-18%, and the milling yield reaches 83-85%.

Special attention is given to the hybrid's resistance to major diseases and pests. High resistance levels to Fusarium, smut diseases, and stalk borer ensure crop preservation and reduce the need for intensive plant protection. Moreover, the hybrid demonstrates high resistance to lodging and drought tolerance, making it a versatile choice for various agronomic conditions and purposes, including grain and silage production.
