Description
The plant reaches a height of 220–235 cm, possesses a strong stalk and a well-developed root system. The ear is positioned at a height of 95–115 cm, contains 14–16 rows of kernels, with 35–42 kernels per row, totaling 600–710 kernels per ear. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 280 to 350 g. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: initial growth energy is rated at 8.0, cold and drought resistance — both at 9.0, resistance to stalk and ear fusarium — 8.0, and also possesses high stability and plasticity.
DKC4406 features rapid dry-down ability, facilitating harvest. The optimal planting density depends on moisture conditions: under adequate moisture, 65 000–75 000 plants per hectare are recommended, in dry conditions — 50 000–55 000, and under unstable moisture — 55 000–60 000. Due to its characteristics, the hybrid is widely used for silage production, ensuring high productivity and feed quality.
