DN Rubin

DN Rubin is a high-carotene hybrid of sweet corn with bright red kernels, developed for feed production in livestock. The kernels contain about 550 mg/kg of carotene, which is nearly twice the amount found in conventional corn, making this hybrid especially valuable for animal feeding. The cylindrical ear is 20-22 cm long, with 16 rows of kernels and 35-40 kernels per row, has a red cob and oval-shaped kernels weighing 270-290 g per 1000 kernels. Grain yield reaches 84%, ensuring high efficiency of crop use.

The hybrid belongs to the medium-early maturity group (FAO 290) and is characterized by plant height of 220-230 cm with ear attachment at 85-95 cm. It exhibits exceptional resistance to lodging, drought, heat, and infection by major diseases, including fungal infections. Thanks to these qualities, DN Rubin consistently demonstrates high yields, potentially reaching 11-12 tons per hectare, matching the best foreign standards. The hybrid is moderately cold-tolerant, expanding its cultivation possibilities across various climatic conditions.

Seeds are supplied in paper bags of 80,000 units and undergo fungicide treatment (Maxim XL) for disease protection. The recommended planting density is 80-85 thousand plants per hectare in the Polissia region and 70-75 thousand in the Forest-Steppe. The hybrid is produced by LLC "Rost Agro" (Poltava region, Ukraine), and the developer is the Institute of Grain Farming of NAAN of Ukraine. DN Rubin is a leader in drought resistance and high carotene content, making it the optimal choice for producing quality feed.
