Elita

Elita corn is a medium-early simple modified hybrid intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and lowland areas. This hybrid has been registered in the Ukrainian Variety Register since 2015 and is characterized by high drought and lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. The plant reaches a height of 230-240 cm, with the ear attached at a height of 85-95 cm, and the ear length is 22-25 cm, weighing approximately 240 g. The grain has a yellow-yellowish color with possible red streaks and a toothed shape, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 280 to 300 g. Elita exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, reducing the need for intensive plant protection and contributing to eco-friendly production. The hybrid responds well to improved growing conditions, enabling high grain yields — potential yields in the steppe zone reach 95-115 ц/ha, and in the forest-steppe zone — 125-135 ц/ha. Recommended planting density varies by region: from 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in the steppe to 90 thousand in the lowland. Elita corn is primarily used for grain production, which has excellent taste qualities and is suitable for various food purposes. Grain can be consumed in the milk stage, and ears can be boiled and used for food. Additionally, the hybrid serves as raw material for the canned food industry. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, Elita is a reliable choice for farmers seeking stable and high-quality corn yields.
