A reliable mid-early hybrid with dent grain that excels in moisture dry-down and disease resistance.
Description
Field Performance of French Genetics
When planning a grain corn rotation, the main challenge is finding that sweet spot between maturity speed and yield stability. The "Frivol (RPG 9610)" hybrid from Euralis Semences is one of those reliable choices that forgives minor agronomic errors. As an operator, the first thing you notice is the dent-type grain; it dries down exceptionally well in the field, which is a major benefit for lowering moisture reduction costs at the end of the season.
Field Hardiness and Agronomic Insights
With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this hybrid demonstrates strong, consistent growth dynamics. The biggest advantage for our field team is its resistance to common smut. Diseases that often plague weaker hybrids barely affect this crop. Regarding the resistance to head smut, proper crop rotation has kept infection pressure to near zero.
Planting Density Recommendations
Experience in the field has shown that "Frivol" performs best when it has room to grow. After testing various densities, we found 65,000–70,000 plants/ha on high-fertility soil and 60,000–65,000 plants/ha on lighter soil produce the best results. Using this approach ensures full, well-developed ears without gaps. The stalk remains sturdy enough to prevent lodging even under autumn wind conditions. As a simple hybrid, it offers excellent uniformity, which simplifies mechanical harvesting and subsequent grain sorting.

Corn hybrids are classified by maturity groups and by the FAO number. All corn hybrids are distributed according to the FAO scale. Under Central European conditions, a difference of 10 FAO units between hybrids results in a 1-2 day difference in their maturity. The higher the FAO... |

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
