In our farming operations, the KWS 2323 hybrid has proven to be a reliable choice for consistent grain production. As a simple hybrid, it offers predictable performance throughout the season, which simplifies management decisions. The waxy grain type is a significant advantage, particularly during harvesting and handling, as it maintains integrity better than many alternatives, directly impacting the final quality of the yield.

Disease Resistance and Crop Care

One of the standout features of KWS 2323 is its inherent resistance to common smut. It is a relief to deal with a hybrid that maintains a healthy stand without requiring constant emergency interventions. While we stick to a standard fungicide program for leaf spot and stalk smut, the crop responds well to treatment without any growth check. It is a robust plant that handles the standard field pressure well.

Seeding Rate Recommendations

• Under dryland conditions or moisture-stressed environments, we find 65,000–70,000 plants/ha to be the sweet spot, ensuring each plant has sufficient resources.
• On irrigated fields or high-fertility soils, we increase density to 80,000–85,000 plants/ha to maximize yield potential, as the hybrid responds effectively to higher populations.
