KWS CORNELIO

The KWS CORNELIO sugar corn hybrid belongs to the mid-early maturity group with FAO 280 and is intended for grain production. It is characterized by high productivity and stability under various conditions, making it versatile for use in both intensive and extensive cultivation technologies. Plants reach a height of 250 to 300 cm, with ears attached at 75 to 110 cm, containing 12 to 16 rows of dent kernels with a 1000-kernel weight ranging from 270 to 310 g. Grain yield is 83-85%, indicating the hybrid's high efficiency.

KWS CORNELIO exhibits high drought tolerance and cold resistance, enabling it to maintain physiological development during sudden temperature drops. The hybrid shows pronounced remontancy, high resistance to lodging and major corn diseases such as helminthosporium and gray leaf spot, with a resistance rating of 9 out of 9. It also demonstrates high early development speed and efficient water release after physiological maturity, contributing to timely harvest and reduced yield losses.

The optimal planting density for the hybrid is 75-85 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 60-70 thousand per hectare under limited water conditions. The hybrid performs best on sandy soils in the forest-steppe zone and the Polissia region of Ukraine. Grain yield potential reaches 170 ц/ha, with average field yields ranging from 110 to 138 ц/ha, confirming KWS CORNELIO's high productivity and adaptability.
