Corn 'Leader 240 SV' is a mid-early F1 hybrid intended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem and Volga-Vyatka regions. The plant is tall with medium-width leaves and distinctive weak anthocyanic pigmentation of the sheath of the first leaf. The tassel flowers in early-mid season, has a long main axis that forms a medium or large angle with lateral branches. The ear is long, medium-thick, slightly conical, with dentate kernels, the upper part of which is orange-colored, and the lower part is yellow-orange. Anthocyanic pigmentation of the ear stalk and roots at the stem is strongly expressed. The average vegetation period of the hybrid is about 121 days, corresponding to a mid-early maturity stage. Grain yield in the Central Chernozem region reaches 67.5 centners per hectare, which is 6% higher than the standard level, and maximum yields may reach 151.4 centners per hectare. In the Volga-Vyatka region, the hybrid demonstrates high yield of normalized dry matter — 93.4 centners per hectare, exceeding the standard by 15.7%. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 31.7%, and dry matter content is about 32.4%. The hybrid 'Leader 240 SV' exhibits resistance to stalk rot, enhancing its reliability and reducing yield losses. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and high productivity, this hybrid is widely used in agriculture for obtaining quality grain and silage. It is suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high yields.
