Description
The hybrid exhibits high ecological plasticity, resistance to lodging, drought, and cold, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. Grain quality is characterized by starch content of 71.8% and protein content of 9.7%, ensuring good technological properties. Seed production is conducted on a sterile C-type basis with a complete fertility restoration scheme, where maternal and paternal lines are sown simultaneously, enhancing the economic efficiency of seed production.
Ostretch SV demonstrates high yield: seed yield in hybridization plots reaches 6.5-7.0 t/ha, and average grain yield on seed farms in the Steppe zone of Ukraine in 2008 was 10.3 t/ha, significantly exceeding standard benchmarks. The potential yield of the hybrid may reach 12-13 t/ha, making it promising for intensive agriculture and high-yield production.
