PROLLIX — this is a medium-early three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.), intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is characterized by medium or high growth, with leaf blades having a small angle of inclination to the stem. Leaves are slightly curved, and anthocyanic coloring of roots at the stem and base of the ear husk is absent or very weak. The tassel flowers early or medium, with a main axis of medium or large length, forming a medium angle with lateral branches, which are curved and have a small number of primary lateral branches. Silk and leaf sheaths have weak or absent anthocyanic coloring. The ear is of medium length with a short stalk and medium or large number of rows of kernels. Kernels are intermediate type, closer to starchy, with yellow-orange coloring of the upper part. The vegetative period is about 102 days, corresponding to medium-early maturity. Average grain yield in the cultivation region reaches 47.7 centners per hectare. The hybrid shows resistance to common smut and stalk rot, but in field conditions may be affected by bacterial blight, mold, and Fusarium ear rot, as well as damage by corn borer at medium severity. PROLLIX is suitable for grain production and demonstrates good adaptation to the climatic conditions of the North Caucasus region. Due to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to several diseases, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable yield at medium-early maturity.
