RM 179 MV is an early-maturing three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) with a vegetative period of about 115-116 days and a FAO range of 180-190. The plants are tall, reaching heights from 240 to 300 cm, with well-leafed narrow or medium-wide leaves. The ears have a weak conical shape, 20-25 cm long and weighing 110-140 grams, with semi-ridged kernels having 14-16 rows. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 270 grams, indicating good seed quality. The hybrid is characterized by strong anthocyanin pigmentation of the first leaf sheath and stem roots, which is a sign of its resistance to adverse conditions. RM 179 MV demonstrates stable and high yields for both grain and silage. Average grain yields vary across regions from 70.7 to 102 c/ha, with maximum yields reaching up to 159.1 c/ha in individual farms. Grain moisture at harvest is about 29.4%, and grain yield is 76.6%. Protein content in the grain reaches 10.2%, and starch content is 72%, ensuring high harvests of these components per hectare. When grown for silage, the hybrid shows average dry matter yield of 187 c/ha and maximum yields up to 288 c/ha, with dry matter content in green mass around 28.3% and high protein levels — 8.8%. RM 179 MV exhibits good disease resistance, particularly against common smut and ear fusarium, as well as white mold. The plants have a small angle between leaf blades and stems, promoting better photosynthesis and resistance to lodging. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Central Chernozem and Lower Volga regions, and can be used for both grain production and silage. Its high productivity and resistance make it a profitable choice for agricultural producers.
