ROSS 145 MV

ROSS 145 MV is an early-maturing corn hybrid with a vegetative period of 96–100 days, belonging to FAO maturity group 150. The hybrid features semi-silky yellow kernels and is suitable for both grain and silage production. Plants reach a height of 210–215 cm, with ears positioned at 75–77 cm and up to 18 cm in length. The 1000-seed weight is 260–270 grams, indicating high seed density and quality.

The optimal planting density for ROSS 145 MV depends on growing conditions: under irrigation, 85–90 thousand plants per hectare are recommended, while under rain-fed conditions, 40–50 thousand plants per hectare are optimal. Grain yield reaches 70–80 centners per hectare, making it attractive for farmers seeking high productivity. The hybrid was included in the State Register in 1993 and is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, Lower Volga, and Ural regions of Russia.

In modern conditions, especially in regions with intensive livestock farming such as Chuvashia, ROSS 145 MV facilitates a successful transition from growing corn exclusively for silage to grain production. Using this hybrid in combination with scientifically-based crop rotations, modern technologies, high-yield equipment, and efficient fertilizer and crop protection systems significantly increases production volumes and reduces losses during harvest and transportation.
