We have experimented with plant densities between 50,000–65,000 plants/ha for standard plots and pushed it up to 70,000–75,000 plants/ha in high-intensity fields. The hybrid is resilient, handles higher stress well, and does not drop ears under density pressure. The plant responds well to fertilization, and its powerful root system allows it to withstand short-term drought without a critical drop in grain filling rates.

Economic Versatility

The main advantage of Limagrain RVI 590 X RVI 589 is its versatility. The ability to harvest it for either grain or silage gives the grower real maneuverability. If you realize towards the end of the season that your forage stocks are low, you can harvest for silage to get high-quality biomass with a high starch content. If the weather conditions are right to reach target moisture levels, you can harvest for grain with high yield expectations. Furthermore, the hybrid’s high lodging resistance simplifies combine operation, minimizing losses during mechanical harvesting.
