The SAXXOFON corn hybrid is intended for silage use and is characterized by stable green mass yield. Medium-height plants, reaching 250–275 cm, have a conical-cylindrical ear shape and a silica-toothed kernel type. This three-line hybrid exhibits high spring cold tolerance and drought tolerance, ensuring reliable growth even under adverse climatic conditions. The recommended seeding rate is 95–105 thousand plants per hectare for silage production.

SAXXOFON belongs to the medium-early hybrids with FAO 220. During the testing period from 2013 to 2015, the average grain yield reached 88.5 c/ha, with a maximum of 141 c/ha. The average grain moisture content at harvest is 27.4%, grain yield is 74.4%, and 1000-grain weight is 270 g. The grain contains 10.81% protein, 72.67% starch, and 3.91% fat, ensuring high protein, starch, and oil harvest per hectare. When grown for silage, the average dry matter yield was 164 c/ha, with a maximum of 281 c/ha, and dry matter content in green mass was 32.9%. Protein content in the green mass dry matter reaches 8.40%, contributing to high protein harvest per hectare.

The SAXXOFON hybrid demonstrates good resistance to corn smut, enhancing its reliability and grain quality. Due to its early growth, stress tolerance, and StayGreen effect, this variety ensures prolonged green mass retention and high productivity. The year of inclusion in the registry is 2016, confirming the hybrid’s modernity and relevance for agricultural production.
