The flint-dent grain type provides an excellent yield when harvested for grain, while simultaneously offering outstanding results as silage. Agronomic management
Based on field observations, we have identified key stand density recommendations to ensure optimal cob development:
- In high-input production environments, a density of 75,000–85,000 plants/ha is recommended.
- Under limited moisture conditions or on less fertile soils, it is better to lower the density to 65,000–70,000 plants/ha to provide each plant with sufficient nutrient space.
The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to common smut, preventing premature damage to the vegetative mass. When the standard cultivation protocol is followed, Splendis consistently fulfills its genetic potential, ensuring a high 1000-kernel weight and overall crop purity.
