SY Enigma

The hybrid maize SY Enigma is a mid-early maturing variety with FAO 230, developed by Syngenta. It features a cream-colored, dent-type kernel with starch content in dry grain at 73-75%. The plant belongs to the Stay Green type, ensuring retention of green mass until harvest and high water release during ripening. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation for grain, silage, and grain production, making it a versatile solution for various agronomic tasks. SY Enigma exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: drought, early frosts, lodging, and various diseases, including gray leaf spot, fusarium stalk rot, stem and root rots. These characteristics ensure stable and high yields under diverse climatic conditions. Yield potential is 14-15 tons of grain and 7-8.5 tons of silage per hectare. The hybrid adapts well to conventional, minimum, and zero-tillage technologies, expanding its applicability across various agroecosystems. Recommendations for growing SY Enigma include optimal planting density depending on water availability and region. For grain production under sufficient moisture, 80-85 thousand plants per hectare are recommended, while under insufficient moisture — 55-60 thousand. For silage, the figures are 88-93 thousand and 60-66 thousand plants respectively. The hybrid is especially recommended for the Polissia and Forest Steppe zones, where it demonstrates high productivity and resistance to climatic stress.
