ORZU

Cucumber ORZU F1 is a parthenocarpic hybrid of salad type, intended for cultivation in protected ground, including plastic and glass greenhouses, as well as in open fields. The plant is indeterminate, of medium growth vigor with shortened internodes, promoting compact formation of vines similar to cornichon cucumbers. The hybrid is characterized by low branching and female flowering type, ensuring high yield and ease of care, especially when grown on trellises. In early growth phases, the crop requires sufficient nitrogen to strengthen vegetative mass and successfully initiate fruiting. Cucumber ORZU F1 fruits have a cylindrical shape with smooth, uniform dark green skin, length from 10 to 14 cm, and weight of 70–90 grams. The flesh is dense, juicy, crisp, with a rich flavor and pleasant cucumber aroma. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is its ability to set 3–4 full-sized fruits simultaneously at one node, and after harvest, new flowers and fruits form at the nodes, contributing to prolonged fruiting. The fruits retain their taste, color, and aroma during overripening and transportation, making the hybrid attractive for commercial cultivation and marketing. Hybrid ORZU F1 exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases, including powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Additionally, it shows good resistance to downy mildew and moderate resistance to various root nematodes, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Early maturity (35–45 days of vegetation) and high yield make this hybrid optimal for spring and autumn cultivation. Recommended planting density is 2–2.5 plants per square meter, ensuring maximum productivity and fruit quality.
