Cucumber variety Ohtinsky is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid intended for cultivation under plastic coverings, especially in northern and central regions of Russia. Fruit production begins 43-45 days after seedling emergence, allowing for a quick harvest. The plant is indeterminate, moderately branched, with predominantly female flowering, which contributes to high fruit set. Leaves are medium-sized, dark green, and the fruits are short-cylindrical, 10-12 cm long, with large bumps and brown hairs. Fruit weight ranges from 85 to 94 grams, with excellent flavor. Ohtinsky is characterized by high yield — 8.6 to 15.1 kg per square meter — and a prolonged fruiting period, ensuring stable harvest. The hybrid possesses excellent pickling and canning qualities, as well as genetic freedom from bitterness, making it especially attractive for salad and pickling purposes. The plant is self-pollinating, simplifying care and increasing harvest reliability. The variety is resistant to major cucumber diseases, including powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus (type 1), powdery mildew (PM), bacterial wilt, and root rot. Additionally, the hybrid tolerates adverse conditions, including excessive soil moisture, heat, and sudden temperature fluctuations, making it a versatile and reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
