ZATEYNIK

ZATEYNIK — a fast-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid cucumber, intended for cultivation in open ground and plastic greenhouses. The plant is medium-height with moderate branching and leafiness, characterized by a mixed flowering type with high female flower saturation, which promotes good fruiting. 1–2 fruits form per node, sometimes up to 3, ensuring a stable yield.

The ZATEYNIK cucumber fruits are 9–11 cm long and weigh 85–100 g. They are green with small stripes covering up to half the fruit length. The cucumbers are white-tipped with medium-sized bumps arranged quite frequently. Thanks to their flavor and crisp texture, these cucumbers are ideal for fresh consumption as well as for pickling and canning.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to true powdery mildew, olive spot, and root rots, as well as moderate resistance to cucumber mosaic virus and false powdery mildew. For planting, seedlings should be sown at the end of April, followed by transplanting into greenhouses at the end of May to early June, at a spacing of 40x40 cm. Direct sowing in greenhouses is possible in May to early June, provided soil temperature for germination is optimal at 25–30°C.
