Mechanism of action: mesosystemic protection

The key feature of the Flint 50 WG fungicide lies in the unique properties of its active ingredient, trifloxystrobin. Unlike classical systemic preparations, this strobilurin fungicide exhibits mesosystemic activity. This means that upon contact with the leaf, the product does not merely remain on the surface (contact action) but also possesses the ability to redistribute in the gas phase and penetrate deeply into the waxy cuticle layer.

Why it matters for yield protection

• Protection of untreated areas: Due to its high redistribution capacity, the substance molecules create a protective screen even on those parts of the plant that were missed during spraying.
• Rainfastness: Trifloxystrobin binds quickly to the cuticular wax, making the product highly resistant to being washed off by rain or dew as early as two hours after application.
• Blocking pathogen respiration: The active ingredient inhibits mitochondrial respiration in fungal cells, making Flint 50 WG an essential tool in managing powdery mildew, oidium, and scab.

Technical application aspects

The water-dispersible granule formulation ensures excellent solubility without forming sediment in the sprayer tank. Flint 50 WG is highly effective for protecting apple trees, pears, and grapes. To achieve maximum results, it is recommended to observe the treatment frequency (2–3 times per season) and adhere to the pre-harvest interval (PHI), which ranges from 10 to 30 days depending on the crop. Classified as a hazard class 3 product, it requires standard safety measures during handling and application.
