Mesosystemic fungicide with gas-phase activity for combating resistant fungal pathogens.
Description
Mechanism of Action: Mesosystemic Protection
The fungicide "Flint 50 WG" is based on trifloxystrobin, an active ingredient from the strobilurin class. Unlike classical systemic products that operate via the plant's vascular system, this product provides mesosystemic action. Upon application to the leaf surface, trifloxystrobin creates a stable film and, due to its high lipophilicity, penetrates the waxy cuticle layer. A second crucial property is its ability to redistribute in the gas phase: the product creates a "vapor cloud" around the treated part of the plant, ensuring protection even in areas that were not reached during direct spraying.
Engineering Design
The formulation consists of water-dispersible granules (WG). This technical solution enables precise dosing and rapid homogenization of the spray solution. The granules are dust-free during tank-mix preparation and ensure high stability of the trifloxystrobin molecules when exposed to water of varying hardness. This form allows the active ingredient to distribute evenly across the crop surface, blocking mitochondrial respiration of the pathogen, which effectively halts fungal spore development.
Application and Field Efficiency
The product demonstrates high biological activity against a broad range of pathogens, from powdery mildew and oidium to late blight and various types of scab. To achieve maximum efficiency, agronomists recommend following these parameters:
- Maximum number of treatments: 3 per season.
- Pre-harvest interval: at least 30 days.
- Application rate: up to 0.5 L (kg)/ha (depending on the phytosanitary background).
Due to its Category 3 toxicity rating, "Flint 50 WG" is relatively safe for beneficial insects when used according to the label, making it a staple in integrated pest management programs for orchards and vegetable crops.
