Systemic Protection and Molecule Mobility

The Fluafol SC plant protection product is based on flutriafol, a triazole fungicide. Its primary technical advantage is its unique mobility within plant tissues. Flutriafol exhibits the highest translocation speed among its group, meaning it is not only rapidly absorbed by the leaf surface but also moves swiftly through the xylem to new growth points, protecting areas that may have been missed during the initial spray application.

Mechanism of Action and Formulations

As a contact-systemic fungicide, Fluafol inhibits pathogen development at critical stages. The active ingredient blocks the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungal cell membranes, causing irreparable damage to membrane integrity and the subsequent death of the mycelium. The suspension concentrate formulation ensures that the active particles are finely dispersed, preventing sediment formation and improving adhesion to the plant cuticle.

Field Application and Performance

Fluafol is engineered to control a broad spectrum of pathogens, including helminthosporiosis, septoria, cercosporiosis, powdery mildew, and scab.

• Target Crops: Winter wheat, winter barley, fodder beet, and apple trees.
• Dosage: 0.25–0.5 L/ha, providing a cost-effective solution for large-scale operations.
• Duration: 1–2 applications per season provide a long-lasting protective window of up to 30 days.

With a pre-harvest interval of 20–30 days due to its high systemic activity, Fluafol requires careful planning in the spraying schedule. Classified as a Hazard Class 3 substance, it requires standard protective measures, yet its efficiency makes it an essential component of intensive grain and industrial crop protection programs.
