The ImperaGold EC fungicide from the Israeli company ADAMA MAKHTESHIM LTD. is based on a well-balanced combination of two active ingredients: prochloraz and propiconazole. This combination covers a wide spectrum of grain pathogens, providing both protective and curative effects.

Technical composition breakdown

• Prochloraz: belongs to the imidazole class. It has a contact action, effectively suppressing infections on the plant surface and at the site of pathogen entry. Its primary role is to block ergosterol biosynthesis in fungal cells, leading to spore death.
• Propiconazole: a systemic fungicide from the triazole group. It rapidly penetrates plant tissues, moving acropetally to provide lasting internal protection. It is responsible for halting mycelium development and preventing sporulation.

The integration of contact and systemic mechanisms allows the product to not only manage existing fungal outbreaks (such as yellow rust or septoria) but also establish a long-term barrier against new infections. The emulsifiable concentrate formulation ensures excellent leaf coverage and rapid plant uptake.

Practical application insights

The product demonstrates high efficacy against various leaf spots, fusarium head blight, and powdery mildew in winter wheat and barley. The application rate is 0.8–1.0 l/ha. For optimal results, up to two treatments per season are permitted. Given its toxicity class 3 and a 30-day pre-harvest interval, ImperaGold EC serves as a balanced tool for intensive grain production technologies.
