A powerful combination of strobilurins and triazoles for total protection of beets against leaf spots.
Description
Synergy of two classes: how Sfera Max functions
The efficacy of Sfera Max from Bayer is built upon a combination of two active ingredients: trifloxystrobin (strobilurins) and cyproconazole (triazoles). This synergy allows for the control of fungal pathogens at different stages of their life cycle.
Trifloxystrobin provides a preventative effect by blocking fungal cellular respiration in the mitochondria. The substance exhibits 'mesosystemic' properties: it distributes across the leaf surface, creating a protective film, and redistributes via the gas phase, which is critical when spray coverage is uneven. Cyproconazole acts as a classic systemic fungicide. Upon entering plant tissues, it moves acropetally, inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis in the pathogen's cell membranes, which halts mycelial growth even after an infection has been established.
Technical aspects of application
- Formulation: The suspension concentrate ensures stability of the working solution and optimal adhesion to the leaf blade of fodder beet.
- Regimen: The product allows for up to 2 applications per season. The pre-harvest interval is 20 days.
- Dosage: The economically justified application rate is up to 0.5 l/ha, which is sufficient for complete coverage of the leaf surface, even in crops with dense foliage.
This fungicide demonstrates high performance against a wide range of diseases, including cercospora leaf spot, powdery mildew, rust, and ramularia. Due to its systemic action, the product is essential for protecting yields during periods of active vegetative mass growth, when the risk of infection spread is highest.
