Rust, caused by the fungus Puccinia aristidae, is a devastating plant disease that affects a wide variety of cultivated and ornamental species. This pathogen is an obligate parasite, meaning it requires living plant tissue to complete its complex biological life cycle, which often involves the production of several different types of spores.
The host range of Puccinia aristidae is significant, making it a concern for diverse farming sectors.
