Action mechanism: inhibiting pathogen respiration

The 'Tonus' fungicide by 'Khimagromarketing' relies on pyraclostrobin, a potent strobilurin-class active ingredient. Unlike older generation fungicides, it targets complex III (cytochrome bc1) within the fungal cell mitochondria. This action halts electron transport in the respiratory chain, effectively starving the pathogen of the energy required for spore germination and mycelium expansion.

Application and field management

For winter wheat and winter barley, the recommended application rate ranges from 0.5 to 1.0 L/ha. A maximum of two applications is permitted per season. To ensure optimal crop protection, it is essential to follow the pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 30 days. As a class 2 hazard substance, proper handling and safety gear are mandatory during preparation and application. Given its systemic nature, Tonus is most effective when applied preventatively or at the earliest signs of disease pressure.
