Description

AMISTAR TRIO protection of winter cereals from adverse environmental factors

The tri-component fungicide AMISTAR TRIO for use on cereals includes cyproconazole, propiconazole, and azoxystrobin. The first two active ingredients — triazoles — effectively stop the development of leaf spot diseases (pyrenophorosis, septoria, alternaria, fusarium burn, etc.), brown and yellow rust, powdery mildew, and net-like helminthosporiosis. Azoxystrobin — the only fungicide active ingredient — has physiological effects on the growth and development processes of cereal crops.
At present, the most severe development in winter wheat fields is septoria. Some varieties (Vostorg, Krasnodarskaya 99, Pamiat', Nota, Moskvich, Grazia, Irishka, Fortuna, Tanya), as well as most advanced seed wheat crops, are significantly affected and require treatment now. Such fields must be inspected immediately, and treatment should be initiated if necessary. By the time of heading initiation, the ear is formed: disease damage during this period negatively affects yield due to reduced number of intended grains per ear and loss of productive stems.
AMISTAR TRIO is registered for use on wheat at a rate of 0.8–1 L/ha against brown, yellow, stem rust, septoria, pyrenophorosis, and powdery mildew (vegetative applications), as well as against fusarium ear blight and black ear blight (applications during heading — flowering). On winter and spring barley — against powdery mildew, dwarf rust, net-like and dark-brown spot diseases, rhihosporeosis at a rate of 0.8–1 L/ha.
AMISTAR TRIO applications enable plants to withstand adverse environmental conditions (air drought, abiotic stresses, frosts, high ultraviolet levels, etc.) due to the physiological effect of azoxystrobin.
AMISTAR TRIO is the only product effective against physiological spot diseases caused by variety reaction to stressful conditions, widely prevalent on winter barley in the latter half of the growing season (triazole products are ineffective in this case).
AMISTAR TRIO is most effective when applied at the ear formation stage, at which point it fully exhibits its physiological effect. Such treatment preserves grain fill in the ear, which can significantly decrease in later stages due to drought and insufficient root system development. This has a greater impact on yield. Often, during high temperatures, plants experience heat stress, accompanied by rapid drying of the topsoil layer. Such conditions usually occur after flowering and lead to rapid leaf desiccation and formation of underdeveloped, thin grains. Such symptoms are often misattributed to viruses, bacterial diseases, chemical burn, etc., although they are most often caused by abiotic factors.
To increase grain fill, AMISTAR TRIO must be applied at the end of heading — grain formation stage.
According to foreign data, preventive applications of AMISTAR TRIO show effectiveness against Fusarium root and crown rot: in this case, they should be applied at the flag leaf stage and no later than the second half of May. Against fusarium ear blight, AMISTAR TRIO is applied during flowering (no later than its completion).
The differences between AMISTAR TRIO and commonly used triazole products lie in its prolonged protective effect, physiological effect that preserves yield even in the absence of disease, and broad spectrum of action against major cereal diseases, including fusarium ear blight.
