Gladiolus Oscar is a large-flowered variety that attracts attention with its bright, velvety red flowers, 10 to 14 cm in diameter. The flowers have a funnel shape with smooth petals and a unique marble texture at the base, created by lavender speckles. The plant reaches a height of 150 cm, and its up to 50 cm long inflorescence includes 20 to 24 buds, from which at least ten bloom simultaneously. The gladiolus leaves are straight, lance-shaped with pointed tips, harmoniously complementing the vibrant flowering.

This variety prefers sunny, well-lit areas with loose, moderately moist soil, well-drained to prevent waterlogging. Gladiolus Oscar can grow in partial shade, but for lush and prolonged flowering, it is recommended to choose locations with maximum light exposure. The optimal planting depth for bulbs is about 10 cm, with spacing of 10-15 cm between them. Windy areas require additional support for tall flower stems to maintain the plant’s decorative appearance.

Gladiolus Oscar blooms for 30 to 40 days, starting in late July to early August. Thanks to its striking color and large flowers, this variety is ideal for group plantings in flower beds, mixed borders, and containers, creating bright and expressive compositions. It is also widely used for cutting, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the flowers in vases for an extended period. Gladiolus reproduces well, each bulb producing numerous daughter bulbs, making it easy to grow and propagate.
