The "Kniazich" gooseberry variety is mid-season ripening and was included in the State Register in 2006. It is recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya zones. The bushes of this variety are dense, vigorous, with upright and slightly elongated shoots, which have moderate thorniness, predominantly single thorns. Leaves and shoots practically have no hairs, which simplifies plant care.
The fruits of "Kniazich" are large, weighing from 5.3 to 7.8 grams, oval or egg-shaped, with strong vein patterns and medium-length pedicels. The skin is of medium thickness, slightly hairy, with a light waxy coating, green in color. Berries are juicy with a tart-sweet taste, rated 5 points, making them suitable for both fresh consumption and preservation. This is a technical variety, fruits are well transportable and suitable for various uses.
"Kniazich" is characterized by high yield — from 177 to 189 centners per hectare, or about 5.3 kg per bush. The variety has high winter hardiness, drought resistance, and excellent immunity to powdery mildew and anthracnose. Due to its early fruiting and low maintenance requirements, this gooseberry is profitable and economically viable for cultivation, providing a stable and high-quality harvest.
