Description
Mid-early ripening variety, developed at the Moscow Fruit and Berry Experimental Station (now VSTISP) from a cross between varieties Finik and Seyanets Lefora. Breeders: M.N. Simonova and I.V. Popova. Included in the State Register of Selection Achievements since 1971, approved for use in the Central and East Siberian regions.
Medium-height, dense, semi-spreading bush. Young shoots are green, straight, medium thickness, hairless. Mature shoots are thick, light-gray in color with characteristic stripes along the entire length of the shoot. Thorns are weakly developed, with a dull dark color. Thorns are perpendicular to or downward-facing along the shoot, distributed evenly along the entire length, single, long, thin or medium-thick. Buds are small, elongated, closely attached to the shoot.
Leaves are large, green, weakly shiny, slightly wrinkled, with blade oriented obliquely relative to the shoot. Three-lobed, with pointed lobes, central lobe exceeds lateral ones. Angle between main veins of lateral lobes is acute, lateral lobes widely spaced. Basal lobes underdeveloped. Leaf base is straight. Teeth are large and blunt. Petiole of medium length, thick. Petiole scar is round.
Flowers are large, sepals light green with pink edges, not closed, slightly reflexed. Inflorescence is single-flowered, occasionally double-flowered.
Berries are large (5-6 g), uniform, round-oval, pink-red. Seeds are large. Flavor is sour-sweet, dessert-like, rating 5 points. Receptacle is round, large, open. Berry stalk is medium length, 1 cm. Chemical composition: soluble solids — 13.4%, total sugars — 9.4%, titratable acidity — 1.7%, ascorbic acid — 16.0 mg/100 g, P-active substances — 20.0 mg/100 g.
Winter-hardy, productive, average multi-year yield is 11.1 t/ha (5.0 kg/plant), characterized by good self-fertility, field resistance to powdery mildew, anthracnose, and septoria.
Advantages of the variety: high winter-hardiness combined with good yield, berry flavor, and resistance to fungal diseases.
Disadvantages of the variety: high soil fertility requirement.
