Description
Krysikovnik sorta Krasen' — this is a Ukrainian mid-season selection, characterized by high yield and early fruiting. Bushes are strong-growing, semi-spreading or with dense crowns, with long, slender branches that may be straight or have a drooping tip. Thorns on branches are practically absent, which simplifies care and harvesting. Leaves are medium-sized, dark green, glossy, and smooth, without hairs. The variety has high winter hardiness and resistance to powdery mildew, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
The berries of Krasen' are large, weighing from 3.3 to 6.5 grams, oval or drop-shaped. Their color changes during ripening: from dark red with a brownish tint to very dark, almost black. The skin is thin but strong and elastic, practically hairless. The flesh is juicy with a harmonious sour-sweet taste, which received a high tasting score — 4.5 out of 5. Chemically, the berries contain 8.4–12.2% sugars, titratable acidity of 1.7–2.5%, and 29.3 mg of ascorbic acid per 100 grams.
Sort Krasen' prefers fertile, sunny, and wind-protected areas for planting. It is versatile in use and easy to propagate. Yield ranges from 3.1 to 4 kg per bush, making this variety attractive for gardeners seeking a stable and high-quality blackcurrant harvest. Due to its characteristics, Krasen' is an excellent choice for cultivation in home gardens and on dacha plots.
