Description
The Zlatogor blackcurrant variety is a new selection, developed in Ukraine by crossing the 'Malachit' and 'Mliyevsky Yellow' varieties. The bushes are medium-sized and slightly spreading, with upright and slightly curved branches bearing a moderate number of single thorns, with almost no double thorns. Thorns are very few in the upper third of the branches, facilitating harvesting. The berry skin is thin, with a slight fuzz and waxy coating, and the berries are round-oval in shape, weighing 4-6 grams. The berries have a dessert-like flavor with a slight tartness, juicy and aromatic, with a reddish blush along the veins. The Zlatogor variety is characterized by high yield — up to 5 kg or more berries per bush. Berries remain on the bush for a long time, resistant to rot and other diseases, making this variety reliable and disease-resistant for cultivation. The bushes exhibit strong frost resistance, allowing cultivation in various climatic conditions. It is recommended to plant blackcurrants in sunny and dry areas from September to early October to obtain the first harvest the following summer. Care for the Zlatogor variety requires minimal effort; it is low-maintenance and easy to grow. The berries are suitable not only for fresh consumption but also for various culinary purposes, including jams, compotes, and desserts. Due to its flavor qualities and disease resistance, the Zlatogor blackcurrant is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a stable and high-quality harvest.
