JULIANA

The Juliana hemp variety (Cannabis sativa L. ssp. sativa) is a monoecious medium-Volga culture recommended for dual-purpose cultivation in medium-Volga hemp growing regions. Plants reach heights of 180-210 cm, with a stem diameter of 4.5-6.1 mm and 9-10 internodes. Leaves and flowers have a green color, while seeds are oval-shaped and light gray. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 15.4 to 18.6 g, indicating a relatively large seed size. The vegetative period ranges from 106 to 113 days, with time to technical maturity being 85-90 days and full seed maturity at 110-115 days.

Juliana is characterized by high yield: stems produce 75-80 centners per hectare (c/ha) with fiber content within 20-32%, long fiber yield of 26-29%, and fiber breaking load up to 37.5 kgf. Seed yield reaches 10.8-14 c/ha, with fat content in seeds ranging from 30 to 38.4%. Stems exhibit good strength and resistance to lodging (5 points) and shedding (4 points), ensuring crop preservation and raw material quality.

The variety features universal usage and disease resistance, confirmed by applicant data showing weak plant infection. Due to its characteristics, Juliana is suitable for cultivation in various regions of Russia, included in the State Register of the Russian Federation, and recommended for efficient production of both fiber and seeds.
