Working with the «Zarevo» variety, bred by the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Science, requires understanding its indoor cultivation specifics. The main advantage of this hybrid is its genetic resistance to Stagonospora curtisii (red blotch). For an owner, this means significantly less time spent on preventative fungicide treatments, as the cultivar is inherently more robust against fungal infections than many common market alternatives.

Performance and Flowering

The variety delivers impressive floral characteristics with a flower diameter of 18–22 cm. To maintain these standards, the operator must ensure a consistent fertilization schedule. During the budding phase, ensure sufficient potassium and phosphorus intake to support flower size. Note that in low-light indoor environments, the flower stalk may stretch, so supplemental LED lighting is highly recommended to maintain structural integrity.

Maintenance Guidelines

• Hardiness: Developed in Georgia, the plant is well-adapted to the microclimate of residential spaces and copes effectively with humidity fluctuations.
• Watering: Avoid direct moisture contact with the bulb neck. Despite its high disease resistance, moisture saturation in the neck area remains a critical risk factor for any bulbous plant.
• Dormancy Period: «Zarevo» requires a clearly defined dormancy phase. After the growing cycle, ensure 2–3 months of storage in a cool, dry place to guarantee proper bulb recovery and successful subsequent blooming.
