«DiMet» is based on dimethoate, a classic organophosphate (OP) compound that functions as a cholinesterase inhibitor. Unlike purely contact-based insecticides, the systemic nature of this active ingredient allows for rapid penetration into the plant's xylem. Following application, the substance moves acropetally, providing protection to new growth that develops after the treatment.

Technical Formulation Features

The product is formulated as an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC). This formulation is critical for dimethoate, ensuring a stable emulsion when diluted with water and promoting optimal adhesion to the waxy surfaces of beet and wheat leaves. The systemic effect typically manifests within 24 to 48 hours, effectively blocking nerve impulse transmission in pests, resulting in paralysis and subsequent mortality.

Spectrum of Control and Dosage

«DiMet» provides broad-spectrum control of both sucking and chewing pests. For protecting cereals against cereal leaf beetles (Oulema), sunn pest (Eurygaster), cereal flies, aphids, thrips, and leafhoppers, the recommended application rate is 0.5–1.5 L/ha. Similar dosages apply for sugar beets when targeting leaf miners and beet weevils. A major advantage of this composition is its efficacy against hidden or leaf-mining pests that are otherwise unreachable for contact-only insecticides.

Practical Application Guidelines

• Application Frequency: 1–2 treatments per season are permitted.
• Pre-harvest Interval (PHI): The final application must occur 20–40 days before harvest to ensure compliance with maximum residue limits (MRLs).
• Hazard Classification: Classified as a Class 3 hazard (moderately hazardous), necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during handling and application.
