«Mongoose» (Mangunst), developed by Zhenjiang Agrin Company Ltd., is a professional insecticidal seed treatment based on imidacloprid, a leading neonicotinoid. The product’s technical advantage lies in its systemic mobility; once applied to seeds, the active ingredient is absorbed by the embryo and translocated throughout the developing seedling. This provides a long-lasting barrier during the germination phase, preventing damage from early-season pests that are often inaccessible to foliar sprays.

Mechanism of action and application technicals

The product utilizes a wettable powder formulation, ensuring stable suspension and uniform coating of the seed coat. Imidacloprid acts by targeting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect’s nervous system, causing irreversible physiological disruption. This makes it an ideal tool for managing hidden pests such as wireworms and various beetle larvae that feed on germinating seeds and root systems.
