Rotalaz is a proven contact-action insecticide designed for rapid control of insect pests across key agricultural stages. With alpha-cypermethrin (100 g/L) as the active ingredient, it provides an immediate "knockdown effect," paralyzing the insect's nervous system upon direct contact with the spray or ingestion of treated plant tissue.

Production and Field Application

The product is a collaborative effort between Rotam India Ltd. (Mumbai) and OJSC Altaykhimprom. Formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate, Rotalaz is stable and ensures uniform coverage during field application. It is primarily used to protect grain and industrial crops against:

• Winter wheat and barley: Targeting cereal leaf beetles and the sunn pest.
• Winter rapeseed: Providing essential control for the pollen beetle.
• Fodder beets and peas: Effective against various aphids, cabbage white butterflies, and cutworms.

Operational Guidelines

Because Rotalaz functions as a contact insecticide, the efficacy of the treatment is highly dependent on the quality and uniformity of the spray coverage. The recommended application rate is 0.1–0.15 L/ha, depending on the pest pressure. Operators must adhere to safety regulations: a maximum of two treatments per season is allowed, with a 30-day pre-harvest interval. Classified under Hazard Class II, the product requires careful handling to ensure operator safety and to prevent environmental impact, particularly concerning honeybees and aquatic organisms.
