The period from the start of spring regrowth to cut maturity is 63–75 days, while full seed maturation takes 95–111 days. Dry matter yield reaches 8.3 t/ha, exceeding the standard by 8%, and seed yield is 0.62 t/ha, 28% higher than the standard. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 3.0–3.4 g. Plant height varies from 90 to 140 cm; the bush is upright and semi-closed with high bushiness – up to 40 stems per bush.

Key characteristics of 'Flagman' include high leafiness, which varies from 32% to 50% depending on the age of the grass stand and vegetation period conditions. Susceptibility to brown rust and helminthosporiosis is below the standard, making the variety resistant to common diseases. Additionally, it possesses drought resistance and winter hardiness, allowing for successful cultivation in various climatic conditions.
