Description
Brome grass "Mikhailovsky" is a high-yielding variety developed by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "North Caucasus Federal Scientific and Agricultural Center" (FGBNU). It features an upright bush of medium density and a height ranging from 125 to 165 cm. The stem has medium coarseness and lacks hairiness, which facilitates crop processing.
The variety's leaves are linear-lanceolate, dark green, and hairless, ensuring good photosynthetic activity. The inflorescences are drooping panicles, while the seeds are lanceolate and brown, aiding in easy processing and quality preservation during transportation.
The dry matter yield of "Mikhailovsky" is consistently high: in the North Caucasus region, it reaches 36.8 c/ha (2.8 c/ha above the standard), and in the Far East, it reaches 39.8 c/ha, matching the national standard level. The variety exhibits moderate resistance to helminthosporiosis and rust, reducing crop losses from these diseases.
