Description
Siberian tall fescue SIBNIISHOZ 99 is one of the promising varieties developed within the breeding program from 2019 to 2021. During the research, biochemical indicators and the adaptability of the samples were evaluated, with the variety SIBNIISHOZ 189 serving as the standard. The results showed that the green mass in the first year of cultivation is more nutritious: the protein mass fraction exceeds that of the second year by 0.8 %. This makes SIBNIISHOZ 99 particularly valuable for feed mixtures where high biological value is required.
The variety is characterized by high yield and good leafiness. 1 kg of green mass contains 0.21 feed units, and in hay – 0.48 units, while containing 51 g of digestible protein. These indicators allow tall fescue to be included in grass mixtures for the creation of cultural pastures and increase its attractiveness among farmers seeking efficient land use.
SIBNIISHOZ 99 is characterized by intensity in protein mass fraction (bi > 1) and extensiveness in fiber (bi < 1), which ensures a balance between growth and nutritional value. Within further breeding work, lines SP-2-11/13-11 are recommended, as well as comparable varieties SIBNIISHOZ 88 and Elbrus with line SP-2-11/13-33, which demonstrate high protein content and fiber. These data confirm the potential of SIBNIISHOZ 99 as a sustainable and productive feed for agriculture.
