The 'Shyko' daylily is a product of the breeding program at the Pryluky Experimental Station of the NAAS. This cultivar is a perennial herbaceous plant fully adapted to the climate of Ukraine. The key feature of this hybrid lies in the specific pigment composition of its tepals: the palette transitions from saturated burgundy and deep purple to soft pink tones, creating an iridescent effect as light intensity shifts.

Agrotechnical Requirements for Insolation

The biological model of this cultivar is optimized for active photosynthesis. 'Shyko' requires placement in open, well-lit areas. The practical reasoning behind this requirement is to ensure the stable synthesis of anthocyanins, the pigments responsible for the depth of the purple and burgundy hues. If direct sunlight is insufficient, the flower coloration loses contrast, and the scapes may become leggy, negatively impacting the plant's structural decorative stability.

Practical Application in Landscape Design

The functional purpose of this cultivar is ornamental landscaping. Due to its robust root system and compact habit, 'Shyko' is ideal for:

• Monochrome or high-contrast mixed borders;
• Mass plantings requiring dense coverage of flowerbed areas;
