Selection Profile and Morphology

The ‘Stozhary’ daylily is a product of scientific breeding conducted by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. The development of this variety focused on creating a resilient ornamental plant perfectly adapted to the local climatic conditions. A defining characteristic of ‘Stozhary’ is its complex perianth coloring, blending a dominant violet hue with sharp white accents, which ensures superior visual impact compared to monochrome varieties.

Technical Development Parameters

• Habit: The plant height is capped at 70 cm. This parameter is ideal for the mid-tier of floral arrangements, eliminating the need for additional flower stalk supports.
• Flowering Dynamics: The variety exhibits a stable bud formation cycle, allowing for consistent decorative appeal throughout the season.
• Hardiness: Having been acclimated within the conditions of the Gryshko NBG, the variety demonstrates high adaptability to thermal fluctuations and the specific soil profiles found across Ukraine.

Landscape Integration

The geometric structure and height of the ‘Stozhary’ daylily make it highly effective for cluster plantings and mixed borders. Its contrasting color scheme requires careful background selection: the variety achieves maximum decorative potential when paired with low-growing foliage plants or ornamental grasses. Due to its balanced root system, the variety maintains strong vegetative growth in a single location for 5–7 years without the necessity for frequent division.
