RFN

RFN is a variety of oilseed flax (Linum usitatissimum L. var. intermedia Vav et Ell.), characterized by high oil content and stable productivity. It belongs to the medium-early maturity group with a vegetative period of 80-85 days and a medium stem length of 60-65 cm. Flowering begins at medium times, with the corolla color changing from blue-violet in the bud stage to light blue at full development. The variety has brown seeds with an oil content of about 49-50%, which ensures a high level of fat in the seeds, reaching 43.5% in some regions. The RFN variety is resistant to shattering and does not react to changes in day length, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. It exhibits high resistance to major flax diseases such as fusarium, anthracnose, polysporosis, and bacteriosis, with resistance ratings from 7 to 9 out of 9. Thanks to these qualities, the variety withstands stressful conditions well, including moisture deficiency, which contributes to stable yields. RFN is recommended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatsk, Central Chernozem, and West Siberian regions, and is also suitable for growing in the Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk oblasts, and Perm Krai. The variety was developed by FGZNU 'V.NII Oilseed Cultures named after V.S. Pustovoyt' and is supplied as sowing material seeds with a minimum batch of 1.5 tons. High oil content and resistance make RFN an advantageous choice for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high-quality raw materials for the oil-fat industry.
