Saniya

The 'Saniya' variety of oil flax is a mid-ripening culture developed through individual selection from a hybrid population of the third generation. It is distinguished by high oil content in seeds, reaching 54%, as well as increased 1000-seed weight, ensuring high yield. Based on variety trial results, Saniya outperforms standard varieties in yield and oil extraction, demonstrating stable performance even under challenging growing conditions.

This variety is characterized by high adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, including arid regions. It is drought-resistant, disease-resistant, and pest-resistant, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatsk, Central Chernozem, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, and Ural regions. Saniya has blue corolla coloring, a white stigma, and a medium-length capsule.

The primary application of the variety is the production of high-quality technical oil, which is distinguished by high linolenic acid content (58–61%). This makes the oil a valuable raw material for food and industrial processing. Due to its agronomic and technological characteristics, flax 'Saniya' is a promising variety for efficient and sustainable oil flax production in various regions.
