Productive longevity for forage systems

«Konvents» alfalfa is a selection product designed for intensive forage production. In the context of Ukrainian agriculture, this variety has established itself as a reliable component for grass mixtures aimed at high-protein hay and haylage production. With a plant height of 70–95 cm, the variety shows excellent regrowth capacity after each cut, allowing farmers to conduct 3–4 full mowing cycles per season.

Practical application scenarios

• Sustainable Pastures. Due to its robust root system, «Konvents» effectively stabilizes the soil and exhibits high resistance to trampling, which is critical for livestock grazing management.
• Nutrient-dense forage. The moderate stem height promotes uniform drying of the mown mass in windrows, minimizing nutrient loss during the harvest process.
• Soil Enrichment. Integrating this variety into crop rotation contributes to natural nitrogen fixation, making it an excellent precursor for winter cereal crops.

The variety was developed by breeders from Ooo Sativa and the Veselopodilska Research Station. The collaboration of scientific institutes allowed for the adaptation of the crop to Ukraine's variable climate, ensuring high drought and frost resistance. By choosing «Konvents» seeds, farmers rely on stable green mass yields that persist for 4–5 years of stand operation without significant thinning.
