CHISHMINSKAYA 131

Chishminskaya 131 is a variety of blue hybrid alfalfa, developed through ecotypic selection and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements since 1990. The plant is characterized by an upright, sprawling bush with strongly branched stems reaching 70-80 cm in height and small elliptical, inversely ovoid, dark green leaves. The flowers have various shades of purple, while the inflorescences are presented as capitulate or cylindrical racemes. The seeds are kidney-shaped, yellowish-brown, with a 1000-seed mass ranging from 1.9 to 2.2 g depending on the growing region. The variety is mid-season, with a vegetative period to seed of 114-122 days and to feed of 50-56 days. Chishminskaya 131 is distinguished by high winter hardiness — in the first year of use it reaches 99-100%, and in the second and third years it remains at the level of 95-98%. The variety is resistant to drought, lodging, powdery mildew, brown rust, brown spot, root rot, and mycoplasmosis, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The green mass contains up to 17.8% crude protein, while the average protein content is 12.4%, ensuring high nutritional value for feed purposes. Green mass yield reaches 378 ц/га, hay — 109 ц/га, seeds — 3.3-3.5 ц/га, while the average dry matter yield in the Volga-Vyatka region is 75.1 ц/га. For successful cultivation of the variety, the application of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers in a dose of 45-60 кг/га of active substance is recommended, as well as mandatory scarification and inoculation of seeds. The sowing rate is 3 кг/га for uncropped sowing and 5 кг/га under cover. The variety is adapted for cultivation in various agricultural zones, including the Urals, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, and Middle Volga regions, which confirms its universality and high productivity in different climatic conditions.
